Position title: Data Analyst

Reports to: SEO and Data Analyst

Purpose:

This position analyzes content demand and customer behavior to guide Marketing and Production teams. Transform data into valuable information to the company. Design and build detailed SEO/PPC/SEM strategy reports to assist the company in making informed business decisions.


Job Description

Key Duties

Analyse Data:

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports to Content Demand and Product Management.

  • Design and definition of databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.

  • Segment, model and understand customer behavior.

  • Design data structures used for statistical modeling.

  • Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for model development, validation and implementation.

  • Development and implementation of Tableau, Google Data Studio, Google Cloud, SQL Database creation/Modification solutions.

  • Provide insights around SEO, site search and filtering best practices.

  • Translate Business requirements into detailed specifications for products.

  • Create, manage, and optimize PPC campaigns aligned to our business' objectives.

  • Apply risk analysis methods to evaluate business decisions.


Support other Teams:

  • Work with Marketing, Content Demand and Product Management teams on multiple deliverables under a tight deadline and report out in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate efficiently with Content Management, Product Management, Operations and Developers for ongoing product improvements.

  • Work with other teams to solve complex problems that require statistical analysis.

  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.


Seek for improvement opportunities:

  • Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.

  • Identify opportunities where statistical techniques can be applied to improve products or processes.

  • Identifies and remediates issues through to root cause analysis.

  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.


Requirements and Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience with statistical analysis, applying predictive modeling.

  • 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), and statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab).

  • Experience with statistical modeling.

  • Deep understanding and use of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.

  • Understanding of various digital marketing channels and corresponding KPI’s (SEO, SEM).

  • In-depth knowledge of keyword research and competitor analysis.

  • Expert in with Relational Databases Systems, Excel, and SQL.


Required Competences:

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts.

  • Great teamwork skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical skills, with a high degree of proficiency in data retrieval/manipulation.

  • Ability to work with ambiguity and to synthesize complex data and draw business insights.


Not required but preferred:

  • Programing language knowledge (Python, R, and SAS).
